Softball WA guides Clinics and Coaching courses

In a further acknowledgement of the strong partnership with Softball WA, Ngurra Kujungka recently hosted Participation and Development Officer Saskia Kosterink to undertake school clinics and a level one coaching course in Marble Bar and Warralong.

On the 3rd May Seniors ISDO Callan Hatchman and Saskia travelled to Marble Bar where they were warmly received by the school. An afternoon of softball skills, drills and games was undertaken with all kids thoroughly enjoying the afternoon and taking advantage of the relatively mild 30 degree temperatures in Marble Bar.

The following day Callan and Sass travel to the Warralong Community for more school sessions and to hold a Level One Coaching Course.

Led by Ngurra Kujungka Recreation Officer, Sharonette Tom, the coaching course focused on skill development with participants encouraged to coach team mates and children in their home community with the correct techniques to decrease the risk of injury and improve performance.

After a solid two hour theory session the seven participants then were asked to put into practice what they had just learnt with a live training session.

All ladies performed excellently taking away not only their Level One Coaching qualifications but some new skills and drills to put into practice in the lead up to Round Two of the Western Desert League on June 5th.
